Brad Kearns mixes things up with a narration format podcast, addressing the most common question of Primal Endurance enthusiasts: Can I really slow down to go faster?

This commentary will get you focused and motivated to slow down and appreciate the importance and the scientific rationale for building an aerobic base, and being highly disciplined to keep your training heart rate at or below Dr. Phil Maffetone's "180-age" formula.

I'm on Day 13 of this program. I'm always a skeptic but I just feel that I have a LOT more energy than I normally did with my old workouts of just tearing up the trail. The hardest part of trying to keep my HR below my max is when I get home and have to carry my bike up four flights of stairs.

I just read your book and started on your program. I’m 57 years old and a life-long cyclist in great shape but carrying a few extra gut pounds. You hit the nail on the head when you said the hard part is leaving your ego behind as you get passed on the bike path by really old dudes and kids with training wheels. Ugh! However, I have been noticing that the hot-shots who pass me usually have bigger guts than I do which makes it all easier to swallow.
